Lubera stops plant deliveries to the UK
Due to Brexit, we are not able to deliver to the UK. We are working on a solution on how we can continue to bring a wide range of Lubera plants to the UK and directly to our customers' homes in the future. However, such a solution will not be available before 2022 or 2023.
English Gardening Journalists at Lubera®

This is how we had imagined it to be, as we began to sell plants in England two years ago - primarily through our website www.lubera.co.uk:

The role of the garden in the UK cannot be compared with any other country. In September 2015, we invited 20 English gardening journalists to East Malling in order to check out our raspberry breedings, which we conduct jointly with East Malling, and to learn about the new varieties of Lubera’s other types of fruit. We invited 20 journalists, and the 20 journalists came - unimaginable on the continent!

There is currently a large truck trailer traveling around in France with a gigantic Redlove® design on it!

The Christening Of Lubera’s New Mini Pear

Readers of the Gardeners World newsletter were asked to send in their chosen name for a chance to win one of these superb pears.  The winning name decided upon was 'Joy Of Kent' which seemed to best describe the feeling of finding and tasting this pear in the Garden Of England.

Lubera Press Event From A PR’s Perspective

Last week saw the first UK Lubera Press Event take place at East Malling in Kent. With limited space for the event it was my very hard job to select a good mix of only a few gardening press who would like to attend, there are so many excellent journalists and bloggers out there that it is so hard to choose! But choose I did and what a superb group of people attended.

Why don’t we sell Boskoop trees at Lubera?

Why don’t we sell Boskoop trees at Lubera?

We are asked often why we don’t sell classic apple varieties as well as why we have created a whole new world of apples that entails a gigantic breeding effort. In fact many of our new varieties indeed correspond quite closely to a classic range.

Those who have walked with Markus down the long rows of bred plants and have selected apples with him, have experienced that Markus seems to know what he is doing.

We are not flying into the Rhine valley, but to Lubera!

We receive an endless amount of emails daily, including customer inquiries such as "Can I order something else?", "Where is my package?" "Look, what's wrong with my raspberries?" There are order emails, of course, not to mention the many spam emails ... and then there are also those emails whose authors want nothing of us, but to simply send a nice message, including good news...addressed to us at Lubera.

Film, television and video

Film, television and video

As you know, I shoot quite a few videos. And they are - admittedly - pretty simple. I hold the camera and then start talking about what I've been thinking about recently (or not). Or I stand in front of the camera, near an object, and say what I have to say. There are no prepared texts, teleprompter or lighting at Gartenvideo.com. This is no different for the latest videos that have been filmed in our improvised Christmas studio set up in a greenhouse in Buchs. Simple information and messages are easily and directly transmitted. And here and there, there is a touch of humour to them. If possible, some history and stories are packed in, too.

Especially in England we hear again and again how “great” it is that we sell our plants through Amazon. Obviously Amazon is the standard for many online shoppers; they trust the company and they feel well served. Also in Germany our customer advisors have experienced in some discussions that there are customers who think they have bought plants through our shop, but indeed and in truth they bought our products on the Amazon marketplace.

Lubera & EMR - Science in the Garden of England

Lubera feel privileged to work very closely with the East Malling Research Centre to produce the best 'fantastical' fruit they can. Lubera is the exclusive home garden partner for East Mallings rubus program. Lubera's founder and breeder Markus Kobelt selects new garden varieties together with Feli Fernandez of East Malling. The future for fruit is bright!
