Lubera stops plant deliveries to the UK
Due to Brexit, we are not able to deliver to the UK. We are working on a solution on how we can continue to bring a wide range of Lubera plants to the UK and directly to our customers' homes in the future. However, such a solution will not be available before 2022 or 2023.

Apple varieties: Which apple would you like?

Lubera and Lubera-bred varieties are always about being different rather than a dull, diverse rather than monotonous. Just because we breed new fruit varieties for niche garden markets, we don’t have to orientate ourselves towards the tastes of the masses. And incidentally, one could really also rightly ask if a popular taste for mass markets actually exists, or whether it may merely be an invention of the buyers and category managers of the big chains that always provide the same deals and promotions because the majority of the people continue to follow them. Ultimately, the mass taste is probably something like a fatal, self-fulfilling prophecy.

Anyway: Our new varieties of apples that we have bred ourselves are not only tasty, but we are aware of the different flavours and that is literally the difference.

Now the questions arise: how did you breed the right flavour? How did you find out or imagine what your future apple should taste like?

With this objective in mind, Markus Kobelt has produced a few videos during the last few weeks, in which he addresses one of his favourite pastimes: eating apples and talking about them.

Markus loves all of his apples and that can be seen and mainly heard. With the help of his tastings and variety descriptions, you are sure to find your dream apple; not just any ordinary apple, but YOUR apple.
