Product information "Helleborus foetidus"

This striking perennial, with the unflattering name of stinking hellebore, was formerly used in folk medicine as a medicinal plant, but due to its adverse side effects it is no longer in use. The plant is highly poisonous.
 
This sturdy, evergreen perennial with its finger-like foliage is already has inflorescences with bell-shaped, light green flowers in early spring.
 
Helleborus foetidus is very hardy and can sow itself in the garden. It is sensitive to frequent transplanting. This hellebore loves partial shade near the edge of shrubs and rather calcareous soils.
