Lubera stops plant deliveries to the UK
Due to Brexit, we are not able to deliver to the UK. We are working on a solution on how we can continue to bring a wide range of Lubera plants to the UK and directly to our customers' homes in the future. However, such a solution will not be available before 2022 or 2023.

Lubera breeds

Our breeding programmes at Lubera consist of finding new raspberries, blackberries, currants, blueberries, gooseberries, apples, pears, cherries and fourberries. This is one of those reasonable crazinesses, which in retrospect can hardly be explained, other than that they make life and the business exciting.

Lubera gardening

It's crazy to breed because plant breeding has a time horizon, a time requirement, which goes far beyond the next foreseeable fiscal years. And so we stand alone here and operate by far the more extensive, private fruit and berry breeding programme in Europe.

Breeding is crazy, but also reasonable because it always supplies us, and especially our customers who are garden lovers and hobby gardeners, with new and better varieties of plants and fruits. Our basic breeding goals are always the same and always easy to formulate: We are looking for fruit-bearing plants that are easier to cultivate and more resistant with better tasting fruit. It is not surprising that we increasingly find varieties amongst our new products that have additional, good agronomical characteristics such as very high yields or good transportability and thus they find their way into commercial cultivation: Our Redlove® apple trees, for example, are commercially grown on four continents.
