Dear Gardener
You may think that a small little nursery in Switzerland must be a little bit crazy, having active breeding programs in most fruit species, in apples, pears, currants, gooseberries, blackberries, raspberries, strawberries and.... And you are right: Yes we are!
This crazyness started almost 20 years ago, when, in an evening in the early nineties I was sitting with my friend Franco Weibel and with my breeding parents, Mr. and Mrs Fischer, in a restaurant in Dresden-Pillnitz, in the former DDR. I had contacts with them right before the changes of 1989 and shortly afterwards and learnt much from them. And during that evening, after having discussed for hours breeding and new varieties, I suddenly said: Why not doing it myself, why not starting my own breeding, why not creating new varieties. And I have to admit: I said it without thinking about the consequences, it was really the moment, the momentum giving me the idea: I will do it. And with the help of the Fischers and many other friends and co-workers, this idea, this dream became true, and is becoming even more real with every new variety, with every advance in breeding.

But still being a little company, we never lost and never will loose contact with our direct
and real clients: the gardeners. Breeding and selecting new varieties, we are not working like
scientists in a certain vacuum (sometimes named scientific community), but alway in close
contact with our longlasting goal: better eating, healthier and easier fruit and berry
varieties for homegardeners, for you!
