Product information "Ornamental Apple 'Adirondack'"

Pure white flowers develop from the dark pink buds of the ornamental apple 'Adirondack'. In the autumn, orange fruits are produced, which are a true ornament until the first frost.
The fruits are held until the first frost

From its pink buds, the ornamental apple 'Adirondack' develops very intense, white flowers in April and May. At the time of flowering, the ornamental apple is a magnet for bees; often the ornamental apples are also planted in orchards due to the enormous amount of pollen, which helps improve the pollination of apples. After flowering, numerous, small, orange-red fruits develop, which are a true adornment until the first frosts. In autumn, a beautiful orange autumn colour appears.
 Little susceptibility to disease

The location of the plant should be either sunny or partially shaded. It is best to choose heavy, nutritious soils, but a less nutritious soil is also well tolerated. The variety 'Adirondack' is very resistant to scab and other diseases.

Also very ornamental in containers

Malus 'Adirondack' is suitable for small gardens due to its less vigorous growth. It can be integrated wonderfully into perennial beds and it can even be grown in containers. The container should be large enough, with a volume of at least 50 litres. This ornamental apple can also be used for decorative purposes; the budding branches can already be cut before flowering and they continue to bloom wonderfully in vases. In autumn, the branches with the fruits can be used for beautiful autumn decorations.
Pruning is not necessary; however, dense crowns can be thinned out in early spring, i.e. around the beginning of March.
