What are Redloves®?
-the exclusive breeding by Lubera
-a new type of fruit beyond the apple
-the new flavour: refreshing with a hint of berry
-healthy, thanks to the red ingredients - anthocyanins
-beautiful, thanks to the pink flowers, red buds and red apples
-resistant to scab
Redloves® are the first good tasting, red-fleshed apples
Apple varieties. Wait, did I hear apple? No, actually the Redloves® are a new type of fruit that is just as distinguishable from the apple as nectarines and peaches or grapefruits and oranges. Although Redloves® look almost like normal apples from the outside, the skin’s fluorescent red colour already hints about the inside from the start; about the inside and other values of this new type of fruit. And this is what characterises the Redloves®:
Not only the red and sometimes pinkish red flesh, the wonderful markings in longitudinal and cross sections, but also a new aroma that is ultimately influenced by the red colouring agent and ingredients: a fresh fruitiness, with a hint of berry flavour, that characterises the sweet varieties. Beauty tastes good here...and is, thanks to the antioxidant colouring agent and ingredients that are several times more prevalent in the Redloves® than in apples, also healthy, too!
Redloves® are first of all, thanks to the sugar and the aroma, suitable for fresh enjoyment; in addition, there are also no limits to the imagination in the kitchen: from fruit salad to cake and slices of Redloves, fresh and cooked, up to red love-sauce (not oxidised) and dried Redlove® rings...Try it all! It’s a feast for the eyes and the palate!

Can this tree be grown in Scotland? (Marisa Ippolito)
Hi Can this tree be grown in Scotland please? I live in southern Scotland and the weather is variable from rain, drizzle to heavy, to severe frost and ice in winter. Would it be best growing in a pot so I can move it in the event of extreme weather such as ice or frost or high winds? We do get many sunny days but not always hot, sometimes 14-16 degrees and sometimes, although not often, up to 30 degrees on exceptional days. I would appreciate your advice, thank you
My tree - a reply would be very helpful please (Marisa Ippolito)
Hello, I have had my tree now for over two years. I grow it in a large pot. I water regularly and feed with a tomato fertiliser in summer. This year I had flowers for the first time and very happy to see one single fruit beginning to grow!!
I’d love more though. I haven’t pruned yet and the tree has wide arms that I feel may need some pruning sometime soon. Can you tell me what I can do to produce more fruits and when is the best month to prune?
I am not an expert as you can tell! But I may buy some more trees if I have some success with this one.
Thank you.

3 years old, but severe fruit drop is not too young, old enough
fruit drop (Sonja Dreher)
Hello
then the fruit drop is a sign of stress. Something in the environment is not ok for the tree.
It can be the climate, the fertilizer, watering or the pH of the soil. (Fruittrees like 6,5 pH and a clay soil.

How to improve Redlove® Odysso®; the fruit setting rate, what species tree pollination
pollination and cropping (Sonja Dreher)
Odysso is not self pollinating. But in the apple blooming time insects are transporting enough good apple pollen around to serve for a good pollination. We never have complaints for pollination of apples or Redloves.
Redloves have their full fruit setting rate when they are 4-5 years old, as these species are bred for early harvesting sucess.

Russet formed on redlove apple (Alasdair Urquhart)
Hi there, Some of the fruit on my odyssey Redlove tree have developed a 'crazing' pattern (like a russet) on their skins. On searching google, it looks very similar to powdery mildew damage except I can't see any signs of powdery mildew on the leaves or stems. Can you help? The tree is in its first year in the ground after buying from a garden centre last autumn.
russeting (Markus Kobelt)
The russeting is caused by cold weather during blooming time. But it doesn't affect the quality of the apple nor the red color
Pillinate (Victor)
With what otherRedlove can pollinate odysso? Circe can do it?, or all Redloves can pollinate odysso?. Thx
Pollination (Your Lubera Team - Sonja Hendrischke)
Hello,
our Redlove apples can be pollinated by the most known varieties of apples, that you find in the normal house gardens. So if there are any apple trees around, don't worry.
Kind regards

Difference (Esther)
What´s difference between semi-standard and bush?
Semi standard / bush (Your Lubera Team - Sonja Hendrischke)
Hello,
the semi Standard does have the first branches at a stem-hight of 1m-1,2m and the bush has the first branches at a stem height of 50-60cm.
Both are grafted on a M9 rootstock.
Kind regards
