Product information "Apricot Little Bobby"

Size is not everything. “Little” can also be exciting, interesting and different. While apricots that are imported from the south are getting bigger and larger, bringing pumped water in every sense to the north, the apricot variety Little Bobby remains small and concentrated aromatic.

Fruits: Sweet fruits for children, small, beautifully orange-coloured apricot, very sweet and aromatic; large yields
Plant/growth: Broadly upright; for mild locations, watch out for temperature fluctuations during flowering
Fertilisation: Self-fertile
Harvest: Medium late, early August
How big are apricot trees?
Final size for bushes: Height: 2.5-3 m, crown diameter: 2-2.5 m
Final size for espaliers: Height: 2.5-3 m, width: from 2-3.5 m

The compact variety Apricompact remains even smaller (about 50-60 % of the size of a normal apricot) and it is especially suited for growing in pots or small gardens; it is also has very reliable yields. Kioto is definitely more compact than the other varieties.

Where to plant apricots? Of course one wants to offer the apricots in the garden all the amenities of southern life and chooses the south wall. But this is often too much of a good thing. Exposed to the sun, many apricots start to grow earlier and the risk of spring frosts is even greater. Therefore, it is better to plant apricots on a west or east-facing wall.
