Product information "Mexican Lime 'Messicana'"

Growth: Compact, slow growing, small leaves, very fertile
Flowers: Extremely many, small, white flowers
Fruits: Very thin peel, with typical smelling essential oils, many seeds, very sour; the limes sometimes tend towards alternation
History and use: More recently, these limes have been cultivated in almost all tropical and subtropical regions and they have also found new uses, e.g. in the famous caipirinha drink. The Key Lime, as it is named after the island group in Florida, is one of the most popular citrus fruits
Frost hardiness/overwintering: Overwintering in a cold house is possible, but sometimes leads to leaf loss. It is better to overwinter the plant in a conservatory, but use additional lighting in our region
