Product information "Heartnut Valentine's"

Valentine is our second grafted heartnut. If you want to plant two varieties, then plant two different ones, so that the flowering periods can overlap better! However, one variety bears sufficient fruit when planted alone. Valentine's matures a little later than Heartbreaker. Like Heartbreaker, this variety has been selected because the nuts can be easily opened, they have a nice shape and the plants have a late bloom.
Fruits: Somewhat smaller than Heartbreaker, can easily be cracked, the nuts easily come out of the shell, extremely high-yielding
Flowers: Yellow-green catkins, good tolerance to late frosts
Pollination: Self-fertile, when planting two varieties, the reliability of the yield is higher
Growth: Strong, no diseases known, yield starts quickly, after 1-3 years
Maturity: A little later than Heartbreaker, early to mid-October
Flavour: Sweeter than common walnuts and less bitter
Breeder: Doug Campbell, Canada
Synonym: Campbells CW3
