Product information "Blackthorn, Prunus spinosa"

Prunus spinosa is a large, bushy deciduous shrub that grows just over 2 m high. The common name blackthorn comes from the very thorny branches and the very dark bark. The leaves are oval and dark green. The white, rich-blooming flowers appear in March and April and they are followed by edible, bluish black berries in late summer.
