Product information "Artemisia dracunculus var sativa (veg)"

Even French tarragon is related to wormwood. It is only propagated vegetatively and is the highly aromatic, cultivated form of Russian tarragon, which is the putative wild form. It can grow up to 120 cm high and thereby is bushy but spreading. The foliage is long, narrow, lance-like and it sits loosely distributed on thin stems. The leaves are entirely or very weakly toothed and light green. From July until well into October, the small, whitish green to yellow flowers appear on loose panicles. French tarragon gives off a pleasant, warm, sweet scent, which is similar to anise. This plant prefers a sheltered, sunny, warm location with nutrient-rich and moist soil. As a very important spice it is a must for every herb garden. French tarragon is ideal for salads and sauces, mayonnaise, dips and marinades.
