Product information "Carum carvi"

Caraway is a well-known spice that should be in every herb garden. This usually biennial perennial is characterised by a variety of modes of action. This umbellifer has clump-like growth. Numerous, white umbel flowers bloom above the feathery foliage bloom from May until well into June. Caraway prefers fully sunny to sunny locations with good garden soil, however it must be permeable and not be susceptible to waterlogging. This plant can be used in herb beds, cottage gardens and natural plantings. It is naturally found in meadows, along trail’s edges and even on roadsides. The seeds of caraway are schizocarpic fruits that can be used for seasoning a variety of foods. Since the flavour of caraway is very intense, it is advisable to grind the seeds before seasoning.
