Product information "Apple Lubera Paradis® Crispino®"

It would not be a Lubera® breeding year if we could not present at least one new apple from our large apple breeding programme. If we produce between 5,000 and 20,000 apple seedlings every year, something has to come of it...

What makes our new apple variety Crispino® stand out?

Like all our varieties, Paradis® Crispino® is scab-resistant; it grows weakly to moderately vigorous and has an extremely early onset of yield. Despite the very large harvests, Crispino® is full of apples every year, meaning that it does not tend to be alternate bearing.

The particularity of this variety is evident directly and obviously in its name: a miniature form, also derived from Piccolino, combined with “crisp”. Crispino® has the best texture properties, comparable with modern commercial varieties such as Cosmic Crisp® or Sweet Tango®, it is easy to eat, always crisp to explosive, but without the certain toughness of older varieties such as Braeburn or Pink Lady®. And above all: the apple is regular and very uniformly small. Small is not a disadvantage for most apple connoisseurs and gardeners, but an advantage.

Crispino – good for biting into – but after 5-6 bites it is also good...

Be honest: when was the last time you finished eating a large or very large apple all at once? With Crispino® this is not a problem. The texture makes chewing a pleasure, the sweet, aromatic juice with a hint of acidity makes eating an apple a delight...and then the apple is already eaten after five to six bites. Crispino® is the ideal snack apple for growing in gardens and it is suitable for those who don't really want to do hard work eating apples themselves...Small, light and juicy and crisp.
