Product information "Lemon Hybrid Lemox"

The lemon hybrid Lemox is an interesting new breed from Italy with very promising characteristics. It originated from a cross between Feminello lemon x pear lemon and the Double Lentini lemon. The resulting hybrid Lemox is characterised by its early maturity, very smooth peel and resistance to drought. The plants are vigorous and uncomplicated.

Benefits of the lemon hybrid Lemox:
  • Absolutely seedless fruits
  • Beautifully elliptically shaped, medium-sized lemons
  • Early maturity starting at the end of September
  • Robust and relatively drought-resistant
Growing the lemon hybrid Lemox
Lemox grows moderately vigorous and branches very well. In order to obtain a uniform and visually appealing structure of the crown, Lemox should be trimmed in early spring, before the plant starts to grow again. Cut all of the shoots that are too long about half way back.

Requirements of Lemox
Like other lemon varieties, Lemox needs a sunny and warm location in the summer. Water the plant regularly, however never let the citrus hybrids stand in water or dry out completely. Before the first frosts in autumn, it must be placed in a frost-free and bright area for overwitnering. During the winter, Lemox only needs to be watered sparingly.

Fertilising the lemon hybrid Lemox
When planted in a container, 15 g of slow release fertiliser (Frutilizer Seasonal Fertiliser Plus) should be applied per 5 L of soil in March. When the container has a volume of 50 L or more the fertiliser can be reduced by 30%. In addition, it is advisable to use a special citrus fertiliser (Frutilizer Instant Citrus) during the growing season on a weekly or biweekly basis. If it comes to iron-induced chlorosis (yellow leaves with green veins) apply a special iron fertiliser (Frutilizer Instand Solution FE) two to three times.
