Product information "Clematis 'Niobe'"

Clematis Niobe forms beautiful, velvety dark red flowers. They reach a diameter of 12 to 15 cm and consist mostly of 6 petals. The long, yellow stamens, which form an effective contrast to the dark flower colour, are also very decorative. The flowering period extends from early June to late September.
Niobe was bred in Poland and is very hardy. With a growth height of up to 280 cm, it greens fences, walls, pergolas and rose arches. The large, velvety flowers look best from close up. Plant this clematis in the immediate vicinity of a sitting area. Niobe is also ideally suited as a durable container plant for designing balconies and terraces. It is important that the planter is large enough and that the soil is kept evenly moist.
The velvety, deep red of the flowers can be combined well with bright colours like white, cream white, light blue and light pink. A bright, warm colour combination is also created with yellow and orange tones.
Since clematis Niobe flowers on the new (this year's) shoots, it is grateful for a regular pruning. For this purpose you should shorten all of the shoots between 20 and 50 cm in February.
