Product information "Grape Kiwi Pink Bingo®"

In the case of fruit plants, it is always a plus if they are beautiful as well – an added bonus. Pink Bingo® is one of these fruit plants, a grape kiwi variety (also called mini kiwi, Arguta kiwi, kiwiberry, berry kiwi...) with an almost super-beautiful pink colour. This also has a very practical advantage: one finds the ripe fruit easier in the tangle of the kiwi leaves. Something that is a problem with the green-skinned varieties. I do not want to know how many mature kiwis I've already missed because I just did not see them. The fruits of Pink Bingo® are oval, about 3 cm long and 2.5 cm wide. The taste is aromatic, with a slight hint of pineapple. It is also possible here to state that grape kiwis taste much better than their large-fruited green and hairy cousins. Pink Bingo® is robust, strong growing, 6 - 8 m, hardy to -28°C. Pink Bingo® is self-infertile; therefore it needs the male kiwi plant Maskulino as a pollinator, whereby one male is enough for 8 females.

Maturity: End of September to the beginning of October
Fruits: Oval, about 3 cm long and 2.5 cm wide. Average fruit weight: 14 g, edible skin that turns an intense pink-red colour, green flesh
Flavour: Aromatic, with slight hint of pineapple
Growth/health: Robust, strong growth, 6-8 m, hardy to -28°C. Needs pollinator variety Maskulino. Bears fruit starting in the third year
Botanical name: Actinidia arguta

What are Lubera grape kiwis?

Lubera grape kiwis are the best fruiting Actinidia arguta varieties that we have put together as an assortment. We call them grape kiwis because they bear fruit in clusters; they are more like berry plants than fruit trees, and because they are fruit-bearing vines just like table grapes. Grape kiwis are not just small kiwis (the term mini kiwi is also misleading and should really no longer be used); they are not only the small stepsisters of the classic kiwi, but a type of berry fruit in its own right.

Why plant Lubera grape kiwis?
-the fruits are edible with the skin
-they are more aromatic than the classic kiwi
-the yield is very high and regular and is usually earlier than the classic kiwi
-they are edible directly off the bush
-they are absolutely frost-resistant/hardy to about -30°C
