Product information "Clematis 'Alba Luxurians'"

With its unusual, whitish green flowers, this variety is a real rarity. The flowers reach a diameter of 4 to 5 cm and have 4 to 6 petals. At the tips, they are coloured in varying degrees of green, which creates a lively, whitish green pattern.
Clematis viticella Alba Luxurians blooms from June to September and reaches a height of 200 to 350 cm. It is vital and robust and has excellent winter hardiness. This particular clematis beautifies carports, pergolas, rose arches and walls. With its discreet colour it is also suitable for elegant garden designs or for monochrome garden elements (the white garden). Clematis viticella Alba Luxurians is the ideal partner for a clear used of form in modern architecture. And not only in beds, but also in noble containers, this clematis is particularly suitable for entrance areas or terraces.
Although Clematis viticella Alba Luxurians seems so contemporary, it is already over a century old. Around the year 1900 it was presented to the public by the English breeder Veitch & Son.
Like all clematis viticella, Alba Luxurians also blooms on new, that is, this year's shoots. Therefore the length of the shoots can easily be cut back to 20 to 50 cm in early spring (preferably in February). It starts to grow quickly and forms many buds. This clematis is ideal for a sunny location with a uniformly moist soil that is rich in humus. However, it also thrives without any problems in a partially shaded location.
