Clematis Semu is very vigorous and rich flowering. Its 10 to 12 cm flowers are composed of 6 petals. They light up in a clear blue colour and have a very good effect from a distance.
Semu effortlessly reaches heights of 300 cm and transforms walls, fences, pergolas and carports into blue flowering clouds. The flowering period extends from about mid-June to September. With its rich bloom and very good frost hardiness, this beautiful clematis is also suitable for permanently planting larger containers.
Clematis Semu thrives easily in sunny to partially shady locations. It prefers humus, permeable soils that are evenly moist.
Like most summer flowering clematis plants, this variety also flourishes on the young (this year's) shoots. In order to preserve its enormous flowering abundance for many years, we recommend pruning regularly and consistently: in February, cut back all of the shoots between 20 and 50 cm above the ground.
