Product information "Clematis 'Westerplatte'"

Clematis Westerplatte impresses with its bright blood red colour. The flowers consist of 6 to 8 petals and they have a diameter of 12 to 14 cm. The long stamens are pale yellow with dark red tips and are also very attractive.
With a height of 150 to 220 cm, this reliably hardy Polish breeding grows very compact. It is therefore the ideal for pots and planters on balconies and terraces. Here you can look at their fascinating flowers in peace.
We can also recommend Westerplatte as a valuable and long-lasting garden plant. Thus, with its intense flower colour, from the beginning of June to the end of September it enchants obelisks, rose arches and trellises. It thrives in sunny and semi-shaded garden areas, where it prefers permeable, evenly moist soil.
The beautiful, bright red leaves create many possibilities for design. Combined with yellow and orange, brilliant colour contrasts can be achieved. White and light blue flower colours flatter the red clematis flowers and highlight its luminosity.
Whether in pots or in garden beds: once a year, this clematis should be consistently cut back. For this purpose, all of the shoots should be shortened between 20 and 50 cm above the ground in February. Thus, this top-notch variety remains vital and rich-flowered for a long time.
