Product information "Clematis 'Mrs Cholmonderley'"

This very large-flowered clematis originated in the 19th century in England. Its flowers have a diameter of 18 to 20 cm and shine in a clear lavender blue. Each flower consists of 6 to 8 individual petals. The bright yellow stamens form a nice contrast to the lavender blue colour.
'Mrs Cholmonderley' has a vigorous habit and easily climbs heights up to 400 cm. The long shoots with dense, light green foliage grow on pergolas, carports, rose arches and obelisks. It also has a very decorative effect when they are grow into individual shrubs or hedges. The clear flower colour has a good long-distance effect and the plant can therefore be used well at the edge of the garden.
Clematis 'Mrs Cholmonderley' is healthy and reliably hardy. Its large flowers appear at the end of May and in June on this year’s shoots. After flowering in July, it forms many more flowers on the new shoots in August and September.
Caring for this clematis beauty is quite simple: plant it in a sunny to partially shady place in evenly moist, permeable garden soil. And cut it back once a year – preferably in February to half the length of the shoots.
