Clematis Pink Fantasy was discovered in Canada in 1975 and brought to the market by the English Fisks Clematis Nursery. It forms beautiful, pink flowering stars with 6 to 8 petals and a diameter of 12 to 14 cm. They are salmon pink shaded at the start of flowering.
The flowers appear in May/June on the old wood, i.e. on the previous year's shoots. In August/September, the buds open that were formed at the young (this year's) shoots, so that this variety delights with two flowering periods.
Pink Fantasy thrives in both sunny and semi-shady locations. It can be used in beds or in pots and containers. It is versatile and reliably hardy. The delicate pink is very well suited to all blue and violet shades as well as to dark purple and bordeaux red.
Pruning this clematis slightly and regularly is recommended: in February, cut back all of the shoots by about one third.
