Product information "Clematis 'Blue Rain'"

This pretty clematis with its nodding flower shape was bred in the Ukraine. It has a light, purple-blue colour and pale yellow stamens. Its flowers are bell-shaped and small (with a diameter around 4 cm). Each flower consists of 4 petals.
Like all perennial clematis, Clematis integrifolia Blue Rain does not form tendrils. If you want to grow on a trellis or on an obelisk, the shoots must be tied. Thus the plants reach a growth height of up to 200 cm. With its rich bloom and the long flowering period from June to September this variety is also suitable in a planter.
If the tying is too cumbersome, perennial clematis can also simply be grown in beds as a ground cover. With their preference for sunny locations and the many beautiful blue shades, they are ideal companions for roses.
Clematis integrifolia Blue Rain is vital and reliably hardy. Since the flowers grow on new shoots, this vine should be cut back vigorously every year in February – preferably directly above the ground.
