Product information "Clematis 'Comtesse de Bouchaud'"

Clematis Comtesse de Bouchaud is a very old cultivar that was bred around 1900 in France. It blooms in a pure, clear pink colour. The flowers are composed of 6 petals and they have a diameter of 12 to 14 cm. The long, decorative stamens are pale yellow.
Comtesse de Bouchaud is very vigorous and easily reaches heights of over 300 cm. With its flowers, it enchants walls, fences, pergolas and rose arches from June to autumn. The bright pink can easily be combined with other colours. Very delicate and romantic, it fits together well with white and light blue colours. But also deep red and violet tones are ideal.
This vital clematis has very good winter hardiness and it can also be easily cultivated in containers. It thrives in sun and partial shade.
Since the flowering takes place on young (this year’s) wood, you should always ensure that there are fresh shoots. To do this, cut Comtesse de Bouchaud back between 20 and 50 cm above the ground once every year in February.
