Product information "Clematis 'Multi Blue'"

This double-flowered clematis beauty emerged in the 1980s in the Netherlands. This is a descendant of the clematis classic The President. What makes clematis Multi Blue so special is its double flowers. They reach a diameter of 8 to 14 cm and are intensely dark blue coloured.
Multi Blue is very rich-flowering and belongs to the twice-flowering clematis. The first flowers appear in May/June on the old (previous year’s) shoots. In the summer, the new shoots grow and form more buds, so that this clematis will delight us in August/September with a second bloom.
As with all of the twice-flowering clematises, the pruning should not be excessive. It is best to shorten all of the shoots by about one third in February.
Clematis Multi Blue can be used in the garden or in pots and containers. It is robust and reliable hardy and convinces with its vitality and richness. The site should be sunny to partially shaded.
The deep blue colour can easily be combined with other flower colours. This clematis also looks very beautiful in combination with climbing roses, for example on a pergola or a rose arch.
