Product information "Clematis 'Princess Diana'"

Clematis texensis Princess Diana is remarkable due to its unusual flowers. It forms small, tulip-shaped flower drops in a strong pink colour. The flower diameter is 5 to 6 cm. The texture of the flowers is also striking; it is very firm and almost waxy. Each flower consists of 4 petals.
Princess Diana grows compact with heights of 180 to 280 cm. The pretty flowers appear starting in the middle of June. The long flowering period extends to September, and even into October when the weather is mild.
This clematis loves the heat and prefers warm, sunny locations. However, it also does well with semi-shaded sites.
With its bushy, compact growth and the decorative flowering, Princess Diana is well suited for planting of pots and containers. Its long flowering period makes it a valuable ornamental plant for terraces and balconies.
This clematis can also be used in many different ways in gardens. It decorates rose arches and obelisks, fences and trellises. The unusual flower shape can also be combined well with climbing roses.
Since the flowering takes place on the young shoots, Princess Diana should be cut back regularly. For this purpose, shorten all of the shoots between 20 and 50 cm in February.
