Product information "Clematis 'Venosa Violacea'"

In 1883, the famous French breeder Victor Lemoine introduced a very special clematis variety with flowers that resemble stars. Clematis viticella Venosa Violacea has dark violet petals, which are pure white in the middle. Thus, a beautiful white star emerges on the dark background.
The flowers are widely open and regularly shaped, 8 to 10 cm in size and they have 5 to 6 petals. During the flowering period from the beginning of June to the end of August the entire plant is covered with white stars, which simply looks magical.
Clematis viticella Venosa Violacea grows vigorously and vital and reaches heights between 250 and 400 cm. Thus, its effortlessly conquered trellises, pergolas, and obelisks. It is best to observe its small flowers from up close.
Like all Viticellas, this clematis thrives in sunny to semi-shady garden areas; it is reliably frost hardy and healthy. A yearly pruning of the shoots between 20 and 50 cm ensures a reliable bloom for many years. For the design of balconies and terraces, this graceful beauty can also be easily grown in planters.
