Product information "Clematis vitalba"

Clematis vitalba is a wild species and also occurs frequently in Germany on forest edges. It is distinguished by its strong growth and the masses of small, white flowers. These appear in huge blooms from the beginning of July to the autumn and they charm us with their delicate fragrance. Each flower consists of 4 to 6 petals and has a diameter of 1 to 2 cm.
This wild clematis is very strong and attains heights of 6 to 10 m, sometimes even beyond. It needs a lot of space. It is most beautiful when it can easily grow into trees, just like at a natural location. Thus it helps conifers, such as pine trees or old yew trees, have a summery blossom. Clematis vitalba also has a good effect on old fruit trees.
Otherwise this clematis is very healthy, vital and pronounced hardy. Because of its habit, it is not suitable for pots and containers at all. It is best to plant this clematis in a large, natural garden. Here it thrives in sunny and semi-shaded sites and is a real eye-catcher while it blooms.
