The best and the most reliable: the classic kiwi dream couple
The feedback from our customers shows again and again that the classic kiwi couple Hayward and Tomuri works the best. Although the start of harvest may take a long time, there is a regular yield afterwards; every year there are large fruits, in an absolutely premium quality, definitely much better than the immature harvested kiwis from overseas. So if you want quality and want to play it safe, plant the classic couple! By the way: thanks to the elaborate propagation by cuttings, our kiwis now start to bear fruit even earlier (after two to four years).
The pollination conditions for Hayward and Tomuri
Hayward, in contrast to what is sometimes said, has well-developed male and female organs. Only this variety, like so many other fruit species, is non-self-fertile, which means it cannot be fertilised by its own pollen. It needs to be fertilised by a pollinator and the most ideally suited variety is Tomuri, with purely male flowers.

kiwi tomuri (R Burton)
I purchased a kiwi tomuri plant from you last year It has made no growth and has now shrivvled and died I want to order a replacement one .Did I do something wrong?
kiwi tomuri (Sonja Dreher)
Hello,
in the first years the Kiwi chinensis can be a bit delicate when the soil is too wet or too dry. The soil needs to have a good amount of humus and the sun should not burn down directly on the "foot". So if other medium high plants give some shade, she would appreciate it.
kind regards
Sonja
