Hedera helix 'Glacier' stands out due to its strong growth and wide leaf spacing. The internodes are 2 to 4 cm apart. With a height of about 15 cm, the plants remain rather flat and provide reliable coverage of all areas with their long, unbranched tendrils.

This variety has an interesting effect mainly due to it beautiful, irregular leaf colouration. The grey-green leaves have a narrow, white border and a silver-grey, central variegation. They are about 3-6 cm wide and 3-5 cm long. The middle lobe of the three-lobed leaves is slightly drawn, thereby enlarging the leaf.

Hedera helix 'Glacier' can be used as a background planting together with flowering shrubs; it is also suitable for covering small areas, such as graves. This self-climbing plant is ideal for greening trellises, walls or arbors and can be planted in bowls, pots or containers. It provides exciting contrasts with its brightly patterned leaves.

This ivy likes both sun and shade and is content in almost any location and has on special soil requirements. In addition, 'Glacier' is quite hardy and freezes back only in extreme situations or in very harsh winters.
