Product information "Oriental Bittersweet"

The female Oriental bittersweet variety ‘Diana’ is a fast-growing woody vine that reaches a height of up to 10 metres. It is a valuable climbing plant with ornamental fruit that is generally hardy, undemanding and vigorous in habit. Celastrus orbiculatus ‘Diana’ should not be planted against rain pipes, as they would be pushed closed by the plant. Flooding would be guaranteed.

The bright green leaves turn bright yellow in autumn. After that, numerous, orange-red berries adorn the branches, which keep a very long time in vases. A male pollinator is needed for obtaining the berries. This plant has no special soil requirements. It tolerates partial shade, but thrives and yields best in full sun. All parts of the plant are poisonous.
