Product information "Veitch Fir 'Pendula'"
This fir with its unusual shape is a special form of the Japanese fir. It grows relatively narrow, upright and a bit bizarre and irregular: individual branches first grow downwards and then back up again.Slow growth
Abies veitchii 'Pendula' grows very slowly and reaches a height of 60 to 80 cm after ten years. Old plants can grow up to 3 m after decades. This veitch fir does not need much space in width.
An eye-catcher for solitary locations
This reliably hardy veitch fir with the bizarre growth needs a individual location for it to have a good effect. It is an unmistakable eye-catcher in garden beds or planters. It thrives in the sun or partial shade and loves slightly acidic to neutral soil. It is not suitable for calcareous (alkaline) soil. With its evergreen, long needles and its fantastic habit, it is very beautiful all year round.
