Product information "Spreading English yew"

Taxus baccata 'Repandens' is an evergreen conifer with compact, flat, wide-spreading growth. This spreading habit makes it ideal as a medium-sized groundcover. This common yew is slow growing and reaches a height of up to 50 cm and a width of up to 1 m. This is a relatively low maintenance shrub, and can be pruned at any time. Like other yews, it takes pruning well, however, its form develops best when it is given enough room to spread and is left unpruned.
This shrub has dark green needles year-round and is one of the few conifers that thrives in shade. The fruits are red drupes displayed from early to late autumn. It prefers nutrient-rich, not too moist soils. Consider applying a thick mulch around the root zone in winter to protect it in exposed locations or colder zones. This yew adds texture and substance to the garden and can be used for a low hedge.
