Product information "Common Holly 'Heckenfee'®"

The holly 'Heckenfee'® combines several advantages: it has a beautiful, dense growth, it is frost hardy and robust and forms decorative, red berries. The foliage is shiny green and equipped with radial spikes. Since it is evergreen, the plant also offers beautiful spots of colour during the winter. The pea-sized fruits appear starting in autumn and stay on the plant for a long time.
A versatile evergreen plant

In the garden 'Heckenfee'® can be used in many ways. The upright growing, densely branched shrubs form long-lasting and sturdy hedges that provide effective wind and privacy protection even in the winter. But even as a solitary plant this variety is very attractive with its shiny leaves and red berries. Since it is frost hardy and tolerant to pruning, it can also be easily cultivated in planters.
Simple and an attraction

Ilex meserveae 'Heckenfee'® thrives in full sun as well as in deep shade. It can handle any garden soil, whether acidic or alkaline. The dense plants are used by songbirds as a hiding place, for sleeping or as a nesting site. The red berries are popular with birds as a winter food, however they are poisonous to us humans.
