Product information "David Viburnum"
The leaves of this viburnum are extremely decorative; they reach a length of 10 to 15 cm, are deep dark green and leathery. Particularly striking and decorative are the three parallel leaf veins. With this great foliage, this wild species from western China is very attractive throughout the year.Beautiful flowers and fantastic berries
At the end of May and in June, the white flower umbels appear, which sometimes have a very soft pink colour. This results in eye-catching, steel-blue fruits that are unique in the plant kingdom due to their metallic shine.
A dwarf shrub with pillow-shaped growth
Viburnum davidii grows slowly and very compact. The branches with the large leaves are spread horizontally and often lie on the ground. This dwarf shrub reaches a height of only 50 to 80 cm and grows more broad than high. Thus it can serve as an elegant groundcover in the foreground of woody plants and set green focal points even in the winter.
Location
This elegant shrub does not grow everywhere. Important for it to thrive is a wind-protected, partially shaded location. In addition, this evergreen viburnum loves evenly moist, humus soils. It is not suitable for very rough situations, as the large leaves are damaged by strong, long-lasting frosts. In regions with mild winters, you can also put it in a planter and use it as an extravagant evergreen container plant for designing sheltered terraces, courtyards and entrances.
