Product information "Dwarf Butterfly Bush 'Lilac Chip'®"

This variety of butterfly bush blooms in a purple-pink colour. During the long flowering period from June to the first frost, the flowers have a pleasant smell and attract many butterflies, hence the name "butterfly bush". The 'Lilac Chip' variety is 60 cm high and 90 cm wide, wider than other varieties.
With the Chip series, a breeding series from the United States, some of the unpleasant features of the butterfly bush were addressed. Above all, the broad-spreading, large growth and uncontrolled seeding have been improved. The butterfly bushes from the Chip series remain small and compact; they are usually less than one metre high. They have a very long flowering period from June to October, during which time new, longer panicles form. The seeds are sterile (not fertile), so there is no danger of uncontrolled spreading.
Buddleja davidii 'Lilac Chip' must be pruned; by cutting the bush back to 15 cm in the spring, the growth remains small and compact and the overwhelming sea of flowers is formed repeatedly.
As a low hedge, in a group, in a container or as an area planting, this butterfly bush can be used in many different ways.
