Product information "Forsythia 'Goldrausch'"
In March or April, the branches of Forsythia 'Goldrausch' are covered with golden yellow flowers. This variety is one of the most compact forsythias. An impressive flower splendour
Forsythia 'Goldrausch' offers several advantages. Firstly, this variety has a richer bloom than other older varieties and secondly the growth is less vigorous than with other varieties. Golden yellow flowers cover all of the shoots. Up to 3 cm in size, the flowers are relatively large compared to other forsythia varieties. The summer green leaves appear after the bloom. When shoots are cut in the beginning of December and then placed in a vase, they will already be in full bloom for the Christmas season.
Also very decorative in autumn
In autumn, a beautiful, yellow autumn colouring appears and the leaves stay on the plant for a long time. This forsythia “only” grows to 3 m high and also just as wide. It is thus relatively compact and does not take away too much space in the garden. That is just one more reason not to abandon the classical forsythia – what would spring be without it?
An uncomplicated beauty
Forsythia 'Goldrausch' loves a sunny or partially shaded location; no demands are placed on the soil and this spring bloomer can cope with every garden soil. In general, the forsythia is generally not very complicated, and it is absolutely frost hardy and tolerant to pruning. In order to control the growth and to enable the formation of flowering shoots, pruning is recommended immediately after flowering; old and overhanging shoots can be removed. If the plant has not been pruned for a long time, a radical cut can be carried out and the plant should be cut back to 20-50 cm. The plant has an extremely high regenerative capacity and will reach the old end height again in 2-3 years.
You can use forsythia 'Goldrausch' as a solitary plant in a group or as a flowering hedge.
