Product information "Ninebark 'Diabolo'®"
The dark red-coloured ninebark is very striking due to its foliage: the leaves shine in a metallic, dark red and they are very dense. They retain this intense colour throughout the summer and turn reddish brown in autumn. In addition, from June to July, many cream white umbels appear, which form a very nice contrast to the dark red foliage occurs. It grows everywhere
The 'Diabolo'® ninebark is one of the most robust ornamental shrubs. It grows in every soil, whether sour or calcareous, sandy or loamy, dry or moist. It is reliably hardy and can withstand very windy conditions. It also thrives in the sun, partial shade, and shade, but the foliage is not quite so intensely colored when it is planted in very shady locations.
Versatile in the garden and containers
With its beautiful, dense foliage, the dark red ninebark is a first-class, deciduous hedge plant. Since it is also very tolerable to pruning, it can be limited in its scale by regular cutting. But also as a solitary plant 'Diabolo'® makes a good figure in garden beds. With its brightly coloured leaves and the numerous, summery umbels, this ninebark can also be used as a winter hardy container plant. If it then grows out of its planter it can either be cut it back rigorously or transplanted into the garden.
