Product information "Perovskia, Russian Sage 'Lacey Blue'"

Perovskia 'Lacey Blue' is the smallest and most compact variety of Perovskia ever. Known as Russian sage, it grows finely and well-branched and thus exhibits a graceful growth form. This impression is reinforced by the silvery green leaves, which smell pleasantly bitter-aromatic. The plants bloom from July to September; the flowers are violet-coloured and provide a nice contrast to the bright leaves.
This Russian sage needs a sunny site with sandy, permeable soil. In harsh winters or areas, winter protection should be used. Apply a thick layer of foliage on the root area. The shoots should be cut back into the old wood in the spring.
Perovskia atriplicifolia 'Lacey Blue' can be grown in containers and even as an individual plant or in a group it has a good effect. Due to its low growth habit, it can also be used for area plantings or low hedges. Thanks to the noble, silvery green foliage, this plant can be combined well with flowering perennials or roses. Especially pink shades form a beautiful color contrast with the silvery foliage. Also in a perennial hedge, this Russian sage can be well integrated as a fixed support.
