Hamamelis intermedia 'Barmstedt's Gold' blooms from February to March. This cultivar has large, striking flowers with strong, golden yellow petals that are particularly long: they are the longest flowering petals of all known witch hazels. The petals of the flowers are slightly curved inwards. The calyxes are purplish red and have a delicate and sweet fragrance. In autumn, this witch hazel adorns itself with splendid orange, red and yellow leaves.
