As a ground cover, Euonymus fortunei var. radicans reaches a height of about 30 cm. This rapid growing spindle quickly greens large and small areas and forms a dense, branched carpet. With age, it grows more bushy and upright. On the walls of buildings, walls or trees it can climb up to 3 m hight, as it interweaves with its aerial rootlets.
 
The evergreen, opposite, elliptic leaves are 2 to 4 cm long. Their dark green color changes in autumn partly to beautiful, orange-red to reddish brown shades.

Euonymus fortunei var. Radicans is used for balcony greening in boxes, containers and troughs. When planted in a group, euonymus looks particularly beautiful when combined with colourful perennials or grasses.

As an absolutely frost-hardy ground cover, Euonymus fortunei var. radicans is suitable for sunny, but also semi-shaded areas. It prefers humus, evenly moist soil and is grateful for a protected site.
