Product information "Euonymus japonicus 'Caty'® - Japanese spindle"

Plants per square meter: 6-8 pieces
The Japanese spindle 'Caty'® grows as a densely branched, upright, evergreen shrub. As a ground cover it grows about 50 cm high. If it, however, is not limited in height, it can grow columnar and extend up to 1.80 m in height. With age, it often climbs up trees, wraps around them and is more reminiscent of ivy.
The 4 to 8 cm long, oval leaves appear quite thick and leathery. As special eye-catcher, the white variegation stands out on the dark green leaves. 'Caty'® this brings a little colour in the garden during every season.

As an ideal plant for balcony boxes, containers and troughs, Euonymus japonicus 'Caty'® can be trained as a hedge or bed enclosure. If you let the spindle tree grow, it forms into a larger solitary tree, which enriches  the garden with its whitish green column.
Euonymus 'Caty'® is as undemanding plant that is extremely robust. However, Japanese spindle only tolerates light frost and is therefore only recommended for non-permanent plantings outside wine-growing climates. Euonymus tolerates pruning well; the shoots can be trimmed with scissors and returned to form in early summer.
