Product information "Common Holly 'Casanova'®"

The holly 'Casanova' (S) has very showy, cream white and green-patterned leaves. They have a shiny surface and are reinforced with small spikes at the edge. In contrast to many other Ilex varieties with variegated leaves, Ilex meserveae 'Casanova' (S) is reliably frost hardy. Currently it is probably the hardest of all variegated holly.
A source of pollen

As the name suggests, 'Casanova' (S) is a male variety. It forms small, white, male flowers in May and is a very good pollen donor for female holly such as 'Blue Princess'® or' Blue Angel'®. Hmm…if that is why the name was chosen?
Growth and use

With its lively patterned, evergreen leaves, Ilex meserveae 'Casanova' (S) is a real eye-catcher all year round. It grows moderately vigorous and reaches a height of 2 to 3 m. Planted individually or in small groups, it serves as a decorative privacy screen. In addition, it is frost hardy and copes well with both sunny and shady garden areas. In appropriate planters this elegant woody plant can also be cultivated on terraces or used as a “bouncer” for the entrance to the house. The patterned branches are also beautiful in vases.
