Product information "Fragrant Abelia"

Fragrant abelia comes from the temperate latitudes of the Korean Peninsula and is completely hardy in our region. The shrub is still an insider's tip among the local gardeners, but this will surely change quickly because the shrub impresses with its beautiful, light pink, almost white flowers that exude a strong but pleasant fragrance in May and June. The flowers, however, not only attract admiring glances, but also serve as a source of food for many butterflies and other insects.
Abelia mosanensis should be planted in normal to slightly acidic soil in a sunny to partially shaded spot.
Due to the orange-coloured autumn colouring, this ornamental shrub is also a real eye-catcher in autumn; the foliage stays on the shrub for a long time and it tolerates frost down to -8°C. Thanks to its picturesque growth, which can be described as growing wide and tall with slightly overhanging shoots, this shrub can be used as a solitary plant, however a group planting or even planting within a wild or fragrant hedge is possible.
Abelia mosanensis does not have to be pruned; the oldest shoots can be removed for rejuvenation.
