Product information "Golden Irish yew"
Taxus baccata 'Fastigiata Aurea' is a slow growing evergreen conifer with an attractive, natural shape that forms without any clipping or trimming. With a height of up to 2-3 m and width of up to 1 m, it is very tightly branched and has a compact, upright growth habit. The needles are green with yellowish green edges; they give the entire plant a distinctive golden appearance.Commonly known as golden Irish yew, this conifer is ideal for use as a specimen plant, or to add height and structure to a mixed border. It is suitable for nutrient-rich, not too moist locations. It tolerates light shade as well as pruning. The red berries are popular with birds but toxic to humans and livestock. It is a relatively low maintenance tree, and can be pruned at any time. Consider applying a thick mulch around the root zone in the winter in order to protect it in exposed locations or colder zones.
