Product information "Common Spindle"
Euonymus europaeus is an upright growing shrub or small tree that grows 5-6 m high. The European spindle tree is a deciduous plant with loose growth and green, angled branches. The foliage appears early and light green in bud, with bright red colouration in autumn. The yellow flowers in May/June are rather unremarkable; in autumn (from August to October), the plant has pink berries with orange-coloureds eeds, which make it highly ornamental. Also known as European spindle or common spindle, this popular ornamental plant does not have special soil requirements, though tends to thrive in nutrient-rich, chalky and salt-poor soils. It has very good resistance to frost and wind.
