Product information "Oriental Photinia"
Photinia villosa, commonly known as oriental photinia or Christmas berry, is a deciduous shrub or small tree. It is part of the rose family and is native to Japan, Korea and China. Cream white flowers bloom in panicles in April and May. They are followed by red fruits which ripen in autumn but stay on the tree well into the winter months (hence the common name of Christmas berry). This shrub can be grown in well-drained soils (avoid wet soils) in a location with full sun to partial shade. The site should also have good air circulation and it is advisable to prune in the winter in order to create better air circulation for the plant. In ideal growing conditions, oriental photinia will spread by self-seeding.- Flowering Period June
