Product information "Star Magnolia"

Magnolia stellata belongs to the early birds: its pure white, fragrant, star-like flowers appear already in March and before the foliage. They have a diameter of 7 to 10 cm and a uniform, wide, open flower shape. In the centre the decorative stamens are visible. Star magnolias bloom very well as young plants and produce lush, white clouds of flowers every spring.

Attractive all year round

After flowering, the elongated leaves appear in a fresh green colour and they are slightly glossy. Since the flower buds already develop in late summer for the next spring, star magnolias adorn themselves for many months with the furry flower buds.

Not demanding

Despite their delicate beauty, star magnolias are by no means particularly demanding. Unlike some of their sisters, they do not necessarily need acidic and humus soil, but thrive even in slightly alkaline soil. Otherwise, they grow equally well in sun or partial shade.

Versatile

With an annual growth of about 15 cm Magnolia stellata grows relatively slowly. Therefore, it is also the right choice for small gardens and for growing in planters. This star magnolia looks very nice in high, glazed stoneware containers as a decoration for a terrace or the entrance to the house. It naturally grows beautifully evenly and densely and should therefore be cut as little as possible. Of course, you can remove individual, disturbing branches if necessary. With this star magnolia you get a fine shrub in the garden, which becomes more and more magnificent and valuable as it ages.
