Product information "Carex hachijoensis 'Evergold'"

Evergold sedge is a particularly attractive grass that should not be missing in any planting. This sedge is evergreen. It forms very upright clumps with narrow, arching, green stalks that are striped white and yellow. From April to May, rather inconspicuous yellowish spikes form. It prefers sunny to semi-shady locations that are as cool as possible with fresh, but permeable and lime-deficient soil. This very robust grass can used in perennial borders, in the foreground of larger plantings as well as in combination with shrubs and it can be planted in containers. Evergold sedge is hardy to -15° Celsius and should have winter protection in harsher areas. In conjunction with lady's mantle, hostas, heartleaf foamflower or cushion-forming grasses such as Festuca gautieri, this magical grass is particularly decorative.
