Product information "Alcea rosea 'Pleniflora', red"

The double, red-flowered hollyhock is the fieriest of the four sisters. It also has the same characteristics as the other varieties. Candle-shaped inflorescences with bright red, double flowers are located above the heart-shaped, slightly hairy leaves. Alcea rosea blooms from July to September and can grow up to 250 cm high. This shrub should preferably be planted in a sunny location with fresh, well-drained soil. By pruning withered stems, the flowering time is prolonged. This plant is suitable for perennial borders, fences and walls as a background plant in large beds and in cottage gardens. On hot days, it should be supplied well with water. Its bright red colour is an eye-catcher, especially when combined with yellow and orange colours.
